HDH120 - Love Lies Bleeding

At Haunted Design House this week is Love Lies Bleeding and you can depict LOVE in it's deadliest form - blood, angst, turmoil.

I have used two digis from Mo's Digital Pencil. I love these images especially the Heartless one and the other one is called Hither (I think!). I have put links to these as I saw the Heartless one on another blog and had to search to find it so I am making it easy for you lmao. Mo is one talented lady and if you haven't heard of her you should be ashamed haha. She has something for nearly every occassion and her drawings are just so professional and so full of character.

Dilly Beans Challenge - Zombie Love

What's not to love!

This week at the Dilly Beans Challenge blog, the challenge is zombie love. Now if you haven't had the chance to glimpse some of the digis at the Silly Dilly Beans shop then I suggest going over for a peek. There are at least 20 that I want.

Well I used the Olive digi and made her in to a zombie. I thought I would use this for my hubby as he is a little braniac so I put I love your brain at the bottom. I have used lots of mica pearl powders on this, my newest thing!

Below is a close up of the brain I used which is from Creepy Glowbuggs etsy shop where you can find lots of cool creations just like this brain embellishment, cards, jewellery and much much more.

HDH119 - Freakers Free for All

Well this week at Haunted Design House the challenge is a freakers free for all! Yup you heard me anything goes as long as it is creepy, weird or macabre you can have an added dash of cute if that floats your boat.

Well I have made a little sculpture which started out good but as usual I never got around to finishing it properly. I couldn't have my clay tools out any more as the kids were getting super curious about them so I had to finish quickly and get them put away. My craft stuff is kept in the garage which at the moment is like an ice cave so very not the work space. If I want to craft I have to haul all of my stuff out of the garage and into the house then it has to be kept up high out of the kids reach so as you can imagine the place is a freaking mess. Well to put an end to my ranting I just made the head which I was pleased with and I got too excited and added the hair forgetting I hadn't added the body and you can't put the hair in the oven!!! Hence why she has a basic body with which the arms are super terrible and stuck her in some newclay for the base and then fashioned a dress around her.

Her name is Lenore and SHE is pining for her lost love!

HDH117 - Shot through the Heart

This week at Haunted Design House you are to create a project with a heart and a hole. Unfortunately mine is pretty pants I have had so little time of late. The reason my post is so late is my 5 year old has been unwell this last few weeks and I eventually thought enough is enough and took her to the docs and it turns out she has tonsilitis!! She is now on penicillin and when I eventually got five minutes to turn my comp on it crashed on me. I used a stampotique image and a nestie thingiemabillybop and some mica powders.

I made a topper for my art journal and tried to make it look like a bullet through the heart.

Quoth the Raven Challenge 2

~Well I actually did this for the first challenge at Quoth the Raven thinking that today was the last day but it appears to be yesterday. Luckily though my little silly entry will be appropriate for this weeks challenge also.

I did a page in my art journal as it only has two previous pages and I did start it ages and ages and ages ago. I got mica powders and have used them but it doesn't look that good in the pic but looks quite nice and shimmery in real life.

My hubby says I will be run out of town with this entry especially since I wrote nevermore apparently. I really am short on time but wanted to show Blackdragon and Fiona (I don't do straight) and Ike a little support so this is my entry. What can you do!! hehe.

HDH117 - Get Lost

Well unfortunately this week I did get lost! The challenge at Haunted Design house is to use a map on your project. I haven't completed the dungeon door. I tried to make a map which didn't turn out and didn't have time to redo it. We had so much on, we bought a car, it was my MIL's birthday yesterday, my daughter had her friends party, it is my youngests birthday today not to mention all of the school stuff the kids have on.....

I did get a silly little digi one done in case the dungeon door didn't work out but I have to apologise. This is one of Mo's Digital pencil digis. I have done him no justice at all with my shoddy rushed colouring job!!

The dungeon below was to be part of a map that held the secrets to its whereabouts! The evil faeries wanted to release their accomplacies. I had a whole little story planned but time got the better of me.

Anyway I hope you are all well and I hope to do better next week but you should seriously go check out the design team they have rocked this challenge.

HDH117 - Chic Freaks

Well we have a sponsor this week over at Haunted Design House that probably every single one of you know and love and it is Stampotique!! Their images are so unique and freaky and wonderful and guess what? They are also putting up a $30 gift certificate for the winner. I know that this will get a lot of you excited but calm down you have to enter first haha.

Anyway on to my project/s. I thought Chic Freak, well what would most freaky girls like. The conclusion was wine, chocolate and a nice candle. So that is what my projects are:

A bottle of wine inside a shoe bottle holder (I made this using paper mache and painted then glittered over). The label is stamped with heads by Daniel Torrente. The embellishments used are from our own Creepy Glowbuggs etsy shoppe which are the brain at the top and the skull on the neck. The image used on the shoe is Linda another Daniel Torrente stamp.

This is a coffin chocolate box that I had made and just coloured the image in black and white. I stamped the choccies wrapper with heads.

Again I used the heads stamp on tissue paper then melded it with the candle. Personally I love this and am going to keep it haha.

HDH115 - Metal Mania

Well this week at Haunted Design House we are to create something using or depicting anything metal. That pretty much leaves it open to interpretation. It can be literal, using actual metal embellishments. Or even themed around the metal music genre.

Be creative, and remember this is a spooky macabre challenge blog. Cute is okay, but creepy is better

Well this week I went with a painting using acrylics of the Dungeon Keeper and the metal part is his dungeon key. I painted a separate hand/arm and added it on with foam pads and attached the key through the thumb/hand part. I haven't felt like doing anything arts/crafts related since before crimbo and having no time at the moment as my little princess is turning four tomorrow and then my other will be three on the 23rd so had lots to do what with girly decorations etc. This is the first thing I have done in ages.

HDH114 - Got Goth?

Well us minions are back. Hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year. Ours was the suckiest yet, we all had the winter vomitting virus which started with my 4 year old who passed it to me and my 7 year old then my 2 year old and the hubster got it, wham bam thank you mam!! We all still don't feel back to normal. At least I didn't pig, there is always a silver lining haha.

Over at the Haunted Design House Blog you are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece that uses or includes a Goth theme. Think black, lace, leather, elegance, etc.

I was really stuck with this one and my 2 year old is just clinging to me so it had to be something on the computer. I had previously decorated an old doll for halloween and used this in a picture. Pretty sucky to say the least and you should see some of the gorgeous gothic gorgeous delights the minions have come up with not to mention we now have a new wonderful addition to the minions our crazy Ike who has her own art shop.

Freaky Friday Challenge #19

Well it just so happens that I have made a zombie with a santa hat (brains exposed!) and a troll with a santa hat so..... put the two together and we have our creepy crimbo entry.

Well anyways gotta go am off to get some christmas supplies (more rechargable batteries for all the battery operated cack our kids get for crimbo hehe) x

freaky friday challenge #18

This week at forever night challenges you are to create a grunge/distress project. They have a fabby sponsor this week smeared n smudged.

My creation is using two of my digis and creepy glowbuggs brains n skulls which come in lots of different colours and effects which can be purchased at her etsy shop here.

I tried to make it look a little cartoony with the green which I thought would make up for my lack of cardmaking skills but I think I would have to do a few more cartwheels than that haha!

I sploshed some ink and used a thin paintbrush to run it across the card. I also used some tim holtz hobgoblin tape and some little gems which don't show up too well. The flower at the bottom is stamped with a stampotique stamp heads.

Mermaid Baby

I have made a little merbaby and as usual the pics are terrible but I will post them anyways.

This little guy is just newly born and still has a lot of developing and growing to do. I made him with sculpey and fimo and then added a silver acrylic wash to give him that sheen.

He is rested on some real shells and a blue glass bead for a pillow.

Freaky Friday Challenge #16

Well I haven't participated in a challenge for ages and last night I made a couple of brooches and thought one of them would be appropriate for the challenge before I stick it in my etsy shop.

This brooch will be entered in to the forever nights challenge which is evil, dark and creepy. I haven't varnished him or anything yet. The two red bits on either side of him are bite marks which the blood will be made shiny with glossy varnish.

Anyways hope everyone is well and I am still trying to comment on most of your blogs but still no luck and I never have the keep me signed in thing ticked so it isn't that. Sometimes it does let me comment then sometimes only on certain blogs.

HDH113 - Heinously Haunted Houses

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

At Haunted Design House this week join us and make a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece that features a haunted house as the focus. This IS Haunted Design House after all :) The more decrepit, deteriorating or disturbing... the better!

We are taking a break for the rest of the year but will be back all fresh and new at the start of next year. There will still be the odd bit of creepiness on the Haunted Design House blog so keep checking just in case.

The Masterful Mistress Barb is also offering up a fabulous prize this week, pop on over to HDH to see a pick of the fab little bundle of creepiness.

I went with something a little different this week as I am all crafted out after our party.

You better watch out next time you think something has moved without knowing how it happened!! hehe.

I was extremely tired when doing this so please excuse any errors in grammar and spelling etc and of course the story itself is a bit well.... but you get my drift.

My Sons Halloween Mask

Well after trying out the makeup I ordered some liquid latex and my son wanted to go as a skeleton for halloween so I had started work on a mask I got out of poundland and added some papier mache then added some latex then some fake blood. I don't think he can wear it though as they will be having their party with the primary ones eeek.

It turned out pretty scary if I do say so myself it is even ickier in real life.

Haunted Design House - Pumpkinhead

Alright so I hold my hands up to have never seen this film (I know hold my head in shame but I have never seen it around). Anyway I watched a trailer on you tube and got the drift revenge, revenge and oh no I don't want that kind of revenge!

My pic in the middle is a pumpkin I made that had went bad just like pumpkinhead. I got told it looks more like an alien than a pumpkin. Also my four year old was bored so I gave it to her to decorate and she glittered it up big style. Well below is a pic of my pumpkin gone bad:

HDH111 - Lurid Landscapes

This week at Haunted Design House we are to create something with a lurid landscape. Think abandoned fields, graveyards, lochs, etc.

My first one is a graveyard pic we took while down near Portsmouth but I can't remember the name of the church. I just added a filter on it and added one of my digis with the famous line from Night of the Living Dead.

For my second I used a pic I found of the Necropolis in Glasgow and added another filter and used one of Teri's great images which didn't even need colouring.

I'm sure you guys can come up with some wonderously freaky stuff so get to it.

HDH109 - Gods and Monsters

This week at Haunted Design House you have to use gods and/or monsters in your project. You can draw inspiration from the Gods or the Monsters of Greek Mythology. You can also go for the classic movie Monster or some bizarre divination fromtales of long ago.

We have fantastic prize of $10 gift certificate for the charm barn.

I have went for th Erinyes who in greek mythology were the avengers also known as the infernal goddesses wreaking vengeance.

I used an image from the grahpics fairy and one from inspyrestash stock. Tweaked them digitally and voila. They (the other furis looking on with great glee) led by the main goddess in the pic who is there to reap a bit of vengeance upon this sap.

This is my latest fad, thanks to Glo haha. She said I should try it because I did a tiny pumpkin and boy she was right it is so much fun (did I really say that!).

HDH108 - You're Making a Scene!

This week at haunted design house we have an amazing sponsor whom I only just recently found due to our sponsorship. Her images are just brilliant and I particularly love the little houses digis. If you haven't already heard of Make It Crafty (what have you been hiding under the same rock as me!!), then I would highly recommend going and having a little look.

Well the challenge is that you are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that depicts a Hallowe'en scene.

Below I thought they made the cutest odd couple. I used mini monstaz, frankie and medusa. I also used the spooky house which I adore!!

I couldn't resist making a few shrink plastic versions and with a light flickering behind the spooky house it looks immense. I am going to try to make a lantern with them.

HDH107 Apalling Apothecary

This week at Haunted Design House you are to create a project using "Apalling Apothecary"what's in YOUR medicine cabinet? poison, hemlock, eye of newt!

Well my little beauty in the troll world is a pinup model. Her name is Bianca and she loves nothing more than essence of rat in her apothecary hence the rat in hand. Her hobbies include potions, rat catching, ghoul bashing and mud dips. She is the pinup for the month of October sporting a fly agaric bikini and lovely red hairy legs and armpits.

Bianca will be the first of a 12 month calender of troll pinups. Now let us see what is in your apothecary!

The Creepy One's Birthday

Well Creepy Glowbugg is having another birthday (like we have a choice!). I am so sorry Glo but my hubby took the camera so my offering for today was taken with the webcam (shoddy shoddy shoddy).

I know you love zombies so I painted a little zombie called Bob from Day of the Dead and next time I send you something I will include this little guy.

We all hope you have the most fantastic birthday cos you defo deserve it.

For some reason the webcam made it blue when is actually green.

Which Witch?

Well I managed to get this little painting done today in between wiping noses and the ten thousand other demands of my children. I put it on a nesties that my hubby let me order as he is off with his friends this weekend so that was my treat. Anyways he thinks she has a punky glare and my four year old when she saw it said why is her hat falling off! Haha I told her it's tilted probably on a hair clasp or something, then realised what the hell am I saying it isn't even real.

Anyways enjoyed painting this love the blue and the green colours together and I love anything halloweenie so good combo.

HDH106 - Seven Deadly Sins

Haunted Design House challenge this week is to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece that uses or includes the Seven Deadly Sins as inspiration.

I personally found this one quite hard cos I am sleep deprived and zombified at the moment. Every single bloomin night one of the kids has had us up for the last 3 to 4 weeks. The two schoolies now have the cold and are coughing and spluttering everywhere.

I finally went with gluttony as I have been a bit of a glutton lately. When I get tired it gets hard to say no to sugary substances which keep my eyes open and my body ticking (which while I know this not to be true as a banana would give me all the energy I need, when I am tired I don't give a ...)

Can you say no to cake? Go on one little piece, you know he wants you too hehe x

HDH105 - PMS Psychotic Miss Silver

Yup the girls have outdone themselves with the humour this week at haunted design house. Psychotic Miss SIlver is the challenge and you are to use something silver with a psychotic lady.

Mine isn't that great but try as I would I found this one really hard. I went for a crazy werewolf hunter used underworld girl for my main image with a few tweeks and added some silver backing. I also used Susan's Crafty Chaos Designs Papers I tried to make it look like a game. This is a digital entry (as if that needed saying).

Anyway I am sure that even joe bloggs off the street could do better than my attempt. So what are you waiting for!

HDH104 - I Was Framed

This week at Haunted Design House we are very excited to be showcasing Silly Dilly Beans Stamps. Her line is just so fun and quirky and are really fun to colour. We got told to go and pick a digi stamp to work with and this one just jumped out and grabbed me. Her name is Olive. Now personally I thought this little filly is too damn amazing to put too much stuff around her so I just coloured her with my new love distress inks and I used a paper I got from The Fruit Pixie for just 17p a sheet WOW. I then put her in a gothic type frame. It does look a lot better than my pics show and I think I will be keeping it up.

I couldn't resist using it again for my friends birthday card. Inside is a kind of sappy message so I will spare you the upchuck moment haha. All you need to know is my BEST friend is one of the nicest people I have ever known, she is one of those geniuinely all round good hearted people that put everyone else before herself and helps absolutely everybody.

Well you should see what the design team have done so far and we still have creepy glowbuggs to come.

TOFF #9 Steampunk

This week at the octopode factory the theme is steampunk. I chose to alter a flowery box I have to a steampunk box.

It doesn't show up too well but to colour this image I used distress inks, glimmer mists and cosmic shimmer. Lots of fun colouring with those and it gleams like you wouldn't believe!

I didn't have a lot of time to spend on this one as my middle daughter started school yesterday and it has been a bit hectic not to mention a visitor this weekend.

THis week at Haunted Design House we want you to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece of the creepy circus or carnival oeuvre. Come one, come all!! Bring out your freaks, your fortune tellers, terrifying clowns, and your most curious of curios.

I got a bit excited and did three things. I don't know what is up with me this week I have done tons of crafty stuff. We were supposed to be taking the kids lots of places before they start school on Thursday but the weather has been absolutely awful.

Anyway I made two brooches and one tarot thingymajibitybob (how very technical of me).

The one below is made using material I made into a flower with a brad in the middle and some beads. Then using one of my images I inserted it into a metal tag I had and used anitas 3d gloss to seal it and give it a glassy look. He looks evil right!

This one I realise the outside tulle is far too big and I am going to fix it. I didn't really realise until I was posting these photos and had another look at them it looks ridiculous right! This was made burning some material again and using the bat lady from the graphics fairy. I did the same as with the jester pin. I got another metal tag and then using some coordinations card stock which I distressed I stuck her too it, she also has distress inks around her but they don't show up in my photos. I then added some pearls round the side.

These three images are fromt the graphics fairy again and I distressed the edges of them and made a ticket to go with them which says admit one and in the side it says soul with a mark and on the back it has non returnable but I made it a little edgy to see so that they wouldn't know they were giving up their soul hmm what goes on in this tiny teeny brain of mine!

Anyway I just had a peek at the design teams work and they have outdone themselves not to mention Glo's post on Wed which I know will be fab as it always is.

Farm Friday - Button it Up

The greeting farm challenge for farm fresh friday this week is to use buttons. Well my Mum's birthday is on Thursday so I thought I would make her a card and enter it in to this challenge. My Mum loves faeries and cherubs etc.

I made the flower using tulle and the ticket I did digitally then added the wording which entitles my Mum to three faerie wishes. I coloured a grey image of Chloe to look like her shadow.

I made these soaps using a mold I bought specifically cos she loves cherubs. They smell like parma violets.

My Mum only likes dairy milk chocolate so I melted down some to make this cherub chocolate with clouds.

Tickled Pink Challenge #33

This is my first time with the tickled pink stamps challenges and this week it is anything goes so I thought kill two birds with the one stone. It is my niece's birthday so I made her a card using the vampire tickled pink digi stamp as we all know most young people are in to vampires these days. When I was young I was uncool because I liked vampires and now it is cool hmph haha.

I coloured her with distress inks and a red copic for the blood in the glass. I made the coffin at the bottom and the bat and the skull is one of creepy glowbuggs skulls which you can buy here. I made the flower it is attached to with different materials. I also used some tim holtz tissue tape hobgoblin. I made up some tickets printed them out and used some distress inks on them then added the lettering.

Well that's enough of my havering.

Forever Night Freaky Friday Challenge #4

The forever night freaky friday challenge is for something creepy and crawly. Well mine is creepy and squirmy. I have defo watched too many horror movies and it has rotted my brain.

This guy was made from polymer clay complete with brain oozing out of the top of his head. He is made from translucent clay and there is red clay inside to give it even more gruesome factor. I glazed him with a gloss varnish to give it that shiny slimy feel. He is a pendant and will be in my etsy shop soon, although I don't know if there is anybody freaky enough to want to buy him haha.

Anyway better go before I get a knock at the door with the men with a nice sparkling white straight jacket all for me haha. xx

TOFF #7 Hats or Crowns

This weeks challenge at the octopode factory blog is to create something with hats or crowns. Well the image I used has a hat and I put him on a tiara /crown (yes I know it's a headband but for the purposes of my little girl it is a tiara, which she will have broken before the morning it out!).

My pictures are terrible once again. I stickled the image and the material but it just didn't show on the picture and I only have the camera tonight as hubby is taking it for work tomorrow and I hate his big camera so... crappy pictures it is.

That is princess Fiona from Shrek in case anyone was wondering. I also used distress inks around the edge of the hare image and it didn't show up either. I am so tired that .... well you get the picture blah blah blah.

Anyways hope you don't think this is too crappy as it actually looks ok in real life. I really really need to do a photography course or something.

HDH102 - Queen of the Damned

Well it's another week and another challenge at Haunted Design House. This week the challenge is to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece that uses royalty, crowns, and/or thrones as the focus. This doesn't have to focus on the movie with the same name (though it may)... just as long as it has that royally creepy touch, it qualifies!

Queen of the Damned

Well I painted (there's a big surprise) a queen of the damned but it didn't look great on it's own so decided to add some of Susan's fabby papers to add something more to it.

Below is the painting stuck on a canvas with some red card with stickles and using the drippy goo punch and a CROWN charm. I aslo added some sealing wax and stuck some crosses in to it.

This was my first painting I did but as you can see I got half way through and gave up as it looks kack. So that is when I started the painting above.

Autumn Fairy Door

Well after months of neglect of my polymer clay I decided to have a wee play the other night. These are what I came up with. One is a tiny about the size of a very small tangerine autumn fairy door and the other is a brooch.

I also made some little pumpkin earrings but cannot photograph them as these photos above are ridiculously bad as well.

Well after lots and lots of searching for some Halloween embellishments that you could get in this country and realising that it was a futile attempt. I started to make my own and am selling them in my etsy shop. Now these are nowhere near as good as Creepy Glowbuggs brainz and skullz (they are so creepy cute and brilliant). I have lots of those and they are even better in real life than on pictures.

I have also made some little black cats (familiars), some witch hats, bats and bones but they are drying at the moment.

Nothing like some self publicity hmm (questionable!)

I did a digital entry and took a picture of one of my kids when her true colours were showing haha. The paper I used is from one of Susan's (Crafty Chaos Designs) paper packs.

I tried to paint him from an image I saw on the internet and it didn't turn out like him at all so I went for him in the short story of a boy named Vincent Malloy. Painted using acrylics:

Haunted Design HOuse - Out! out, damn spot!

This week over at Haunted Design House the challenge is to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece that is covered in spatter, splatter, drips or drops. It doesn't have to be bloody. There are plenty of other creepy, drippy, gooey, and oozing things that can go SPLAT!

Now I better explain my card. I made this for my son to give to his teacher (minus the blood splats) haha big mistake. I thought it would be nice for her not to get a card with an apple on it tehe. Anyway when I showed it to my 6 year old he looked at me kinda funny and I said what do you think and he said it's very nice mummy but em, er, em I don't think it's the kind of thing to give to my teacher haha. I told him he didn't have to give it and he said well you went to all the trouble of making it so I will give it to her. I told him he doesn't have to do anything that will make him feel uncomfortable and he said ok could you make me a pretty one then haha, hence why I had this one to splatter blood over.

Anyways just a quick post as we are headed out today for a day dedicated just to fun, fun, fun for the kids (oh joy hehe).

The Octopode Factory Challenge 3 - Once Upon a Time

Well it is challenge week three at the octopode factory challenge blog and I missed entering the first two so thought I better get my butt in to gear.

I did a two page in an art journal I have just started and the first has faeries on and the second has a fantastic little image that is the cheshire cat but I think looks sort of demonish.

Page one says a fairytale a day keeps the demons at bay. Page two is the little demon-like cat (isn't he adorable hehe). I used tim holtz distress ink to smudge around the image and thought he was best not to be coloured as he looks fab as is. I used a couple of creepy glowbuggs skullz which can be bought here. I modge podged a couple of pages on about goblins or whatnot from the spiderwick chronicles.

Firsty a big happy belated birthday to Lynda aka Blackdragon or Lynx. It was her birthday yesterday but we decided to hold off a day and dedicate the challenge to her. We all LOVE Lynda so much she is such an amazing person and artist (see here and here)and does it all with little uns and old uns and still without complaining like the rest of us mere mortals would! So HAPPY BIRTHDAY, we love you lots.

I used the raven from octopode (love her images she is one talented little lady)

Now we all know that it was going to be either Poe or Dragons so I went with Poe. I know the raven isn't great but I ran out of time. The raven's feet are pins fot the pin cushion and I made a Poe pin topper too. Instead of an actual card I just did a mini Poe painting.

Gran Kate - April 1914 to June 2011

Wanted to put a little post mostly to get this off my chest but my Gran sadly passed away last Thursday in the early hours of the morning. She was such a crazy cool person and it was my Gran who gave me my freaky tastes as she was a horror buff and used to watch them with us when we were young. She was always reading books esp horror ones. She was well respected within the family and loved to tell it like it was no holds barred!

This was my Gran when she was a teenager.

Below was my Gran when she visited us in New Zealand in the 70's.

Below is how I will always remember my Gran.

She will be sadly missed by all of us and life has been a better place having her with us.

HDH094 - Menacing Mermaids

Haunted Design House - Menacing Mermaids

This week you are to make something wicked using the terrifying temptresses from the formidable and foul fathoms as your inspiration. These are not the mermaids that hung on your Grandma's bathroom wall. Let's see something scary!!

Anyway I decided to paint one and for once I am quite pleased with how she turned out. She is quite evil and is sad because she hasn't caused the kind of mayhem she had hoped (poor little ickle thing!).

I know my pics are terrible really try but am a total duffus!

Above is merbiatch before she had scales added. She was painted using acrylics and I painted her on hardboard (I prefer hardboard it to canvas as I can rectify mistakes of which I make many, plus find it easier to shade, even on something as simple as this there were and are lots and lots of mistakes).

Anyway hopefully you guys will play along this week and come up with some pretty cool stuff.

Haunted Design House - Pleasure and Pain

This week at Haunted Design House you are to incorporate something you love with something you hate. Well for me this one was easy. I LOVE rubber stamping but I HATE rubber stamping. I am just no darn good at it no matter how I try. Everybody tells me little hints and tips and they never work. You will see in this pick there are bits I have had to go over with pen cos I stamped it like ten times and didn't get one decent image.

On this I used a canvas for the backing some coodinations for the first card then a little stack for the image being stamped on. I coloured the stamp with tim holtz distress reinker weathered wood I think. I adorned this with Creepy Glowbugg's fabulous skulls and brains and some ribbon she sent me a while back and bob's your uncle.

Farquhar the Werefox

Introducing Farquar the Werefox, well there are werewolfs are there not! hmm. (I didn;t have the right colour for a werewolf so... Farquhar was born)

He is a colourful chap who when going through the change likes to chase humans dressed as chickens bitting their ankles as he goes. So be careful choosing your costume for the London Marathon.

Needle Felted Doll

This is my first needle felted doll that I am putting on my etsy store (sometime later this week along with some other junk I have created haha).

Her name is Esme (short for Esmerelda). She is a little ghoul who was born in Scotland. She likes walks in the forest, eyeball cupcakes and Jeff Buckly (she says his voice reminds her of the Banshee from the forest).

Yes those are yellow pants!

HDH089 - DALI DELUSIONS

This week at Haunted Design House the challenge is to let Dali inspire you, therefore Dali Delusions. Well I decided to paint Dali's face with the old sticks holding his head up (how original of me to rip him off like that ha!)

Now my good friend Netty has told me a few times about Paint Party Friday and this week is The Party after the Storm so I am entering the painting in this too. Talk about a talented bunch of painters,WOW. I have been oogling their blogs for a couple of weeks now and they sure do know how to paint.

I never get a chance to paint as my kids are still young and as soon as I bring out my paints they descend upon me. So when I was painting this the 2 year old was like hanging off of my arm trying to dip her hand in my paints, that is why the skulls on the bg were so imperfect and rushed as I just had to finish it.

All of the marks on the canvas board are where my little one put her grubby toast fingerprints hehe.

Anyway I hope you decide to play along with Macabre Monday this week as we would love to see what craziness you come up with.

Tribal Faerie

This is my little tribal faerie that I made. Now I didn't even think this (obviously I have a naive outlook) but my hubby said it looks like this little faerie is doing naughties to the pumpkin (dirty minded so and so).

Well I have put a few views in so you can see the pumpkin is his little pet friend (and they are just friends). I am hoping to make more and sell them on etsy so would be grateful to know any opinions (honest ones not oh that is lovely when you are thinking in your head my god this girl is demented haha I know you already think that anyways).

I myself have used six images (yes one is on the middle devils tongue), six of susan's fantastic papers and six words.

HDH086 - Alone in the Dark

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based project using a black or eerily dark background for your main image.

I actually managed to get a shot on the printer and printed these beauties out to colour but alas my two year old thought that a digital entry would be better and got her mucky little paws all over my printout.

The first one is called Kitty Witch can you believe she is only £1.50 to purchase! I tried to make it look like she was so fast at moving that she was a blur kind of magic. Hubby said oh that image is nice but why is it blurry over there, tehe. The second I just put a filter over it and added a sentiment from Return of the Living Dead although I think that the dispatch was for more paramedics but let's not split hairs. Elven head

I have sculpted another little elven head and I got some fabritac so was messing about with adding hair. I just used super sculpey and some acrylic paint to add some shadows on the face.

Anyway I like this little guy so na na na na na na who says I'm not mature!

Now I had quite a few pics of this showing the lemons and sugar bag inside but my laptop has had to go back to the service centre for repair so I stupidly haven't got the pics on hubby's laptop.

I put two lemons inside with a sugar bag and I made a little basket to house them. The kids and I made lemonade which was quite fun actually and they loved it.

The back of the lemon tag has a recipe for making lemonade. Sorry for short posts and lack of commenting but I so hate this laptop it is slow, clicks when you don't want it to and the keys are wrecked.

Macabre Monday 084 - Zombie Apocalypse

This week at haunted design house it is my turn to sponsor the challenge so it is therefore a Zombie Apocalypse eeeek.

I had a few ideas but absolutely no time as the kids are off for two weeks and D'Arcy is the cling monster this week. I tried shrink plastic zombies then I tried painting on a slate but then I just got an old canvas and painted over it with zombies. Now it is from my head so therefore not very good as I am terrible at doing things from my head and I was holding D'Arcy which let me tell you was a complete nightmare she isn't exactly a litle light feather anymore and now I have biceps like Arnie!

Now hubby thinks these pics are a disgrace not the actual zombies but the pics I have taken with the camera but what can you do we took the kids to the beach during the day yesterday then we went to a barbeque and never got back until really late so had to make do with these.

Macabre Monday - Magically Witchy

"Magically Witchy!" at Haunted Design House

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based project That features witches, witchcraft, magic or the occult. Incantations, familiars, potion ingredients, all are welcome this week.

This is a journal I altered. My hubby despairs at me and the mountain of journals I own which have never been touched and my 'oh I have to have more attitude'. The image is called Alexandria (just like my daughter) and she is one of the Stitchy Bear Stamps Digis. I thought she looked too nice to macabre her out too much so made a witchy journal. The ribbon I used was sent to me by the Creepiness herself Glo. The green paper is from echo park (I think) and I used the thick ranger embossing powder glass type thingy (how technical of me!) The letters are from the same card 12x12 pack as the blue paper I have distressed. The brads are from papermania. The little cat and witch at the top are from different sticker halloween packs. I coloured this little beautiful digi with copics (I know have some more colours thanks to my hubby x).

I think I am going to use this notebook to use a darker art journal. I have a few others earmarked for a normal art journal.

Macabre Monday - Dastardly Divas

This week at Haunted Design House we are being sponsored by the extremely talented Barbara Jensen. She has kindly given the design team the most beautiful Ivy image to work with. What a pleasure it was colouring this beauty up. The challenge post is here. The winner will get to choose three of the most fantastic Barbara Jensen images. Now that's what I call a prize.

The challenge is that we want to see women who still look fabulous even when performing acts so vile and vicious that Dracula himself would blush.

I got this bottle for like 70p or something without a stopper. I used an old whisky bottle stopper and dipped it in glitter to match the green. It is a bottle to store poison ivy. I used mod podge to seal the image and then glossed over it with 3d gel. I attached some fibres and a leaf.

Below is the tag I made then printed and distressed. The tag has all the names of poision ivy with which the witch can use for her potions.

As usual my pictures are so shockingly bad but hubby has promised to knock me up a little photo booth soon.

Anyway to win yourself a prize from Barbara Jensen all you have to do is enter and cross your fingers that you get picked and Bob's your uncle you might have a wonderful digi prize.

Macabre Mondy HDH080 - Alas Poor Yorick

This week the challenge at Haunted Design house is skulls, skulls and more skulls. Now I left it to the last minute and my entry is S.....! Hubby actually said hmm not the best thing you have ever done.

This is a close up of the heart I made with the skull painting in the middle. I painted it with acrylics.

I attached it to a folder which I keep all my guff in.

This was another frame I did that was also very guff.

Well I happen to have seen the delightful stuff that some of the minions have created and so so so much better than this hehe (I know wouldn't be very dang hard!).

Anyway I seriously had a hard time with this as the kids have been stuck in with the bad weather. They haven't left me alone for two bloomin seconds, building dens, playing quizzes, chases, drawing and cutting etc etc etc. The plus side though my little D'Arcy used the potty three times yesterday so we are getting there.

Macabre Monday - HDH079 Body Bags and Toe Tags

At Haunted Design House this weeeks challenge is to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based bag or tag project in a suitably macabre fashion.

Please don't judge the others work by this as mine is a bit childish and theirs are so stylish and fantastic. I made this as a gift bag for a Zombie Escape Plan that I plan on making in the near future if I get time (haha). Susan from Susan's Crafty Chaos has managed to win herself a place in my escape plan purely for her organisational skills and wit hehe.

All of the elements you can take off and use. I made the keychains at the top with polymer clay. There are two toes, a bone, a zombie toe, a cofffin and an eyeball. The middle bit with the zombie girl is a brooch with an image I drew from Return of the Living Dead. The top is a toe tag which can be used as a bookmark and has a toe attached to it also.

Anyways hope you all have a lovely day and defo go to Haunted Design House to have a peek their work is phenomenal and a little bit creepy mwahahaha.

Macabre Monday HDH078 - My Beloved Monster

Well this week at Haunted Design House the challenge is for you to create a beloved monster, monsters, in any size, shape, colour or form.

I drew a couple of monsters and had two hanging from the top of the page, these little guys have some appetite and do you see that pile of bones at the bottom! The big guy in the middle is sad cos the little guys polished off the last of the supplies...

The page is from the graphic fairy. Can you tell by my post that I am still a little out of it, boy what a virus that was. Hubby thought it was really funny to keep asking for chicken soup when he got it (man flu with nick frost).

Simply Betty Valentine Blog Hop

Well Simply Betty Stamps has a new release and I was so super chuffed to be a part of this blog hop because these digis are my absolute fave. You got it the steampunk are now valentine digis. Well I have done two for this. The first one is a digital and she is called Emma and is from the Valentine Steampunk digis and the second is a card with which I used the Grace Valentine Steampunk digi.

The bat hearts are from the Grace Valentine Digi and the usual suspects are all adorable creatures from some of the other digis available from Simply Betty Stamps.

With this card I cut out a heart with purple cardstock from TAC (which Barb kindly sent me and it is fantastic quality). I embossed it with silver embossing powder using a stamp that Barb also sent me from TAC. The circle behind Grace is one of my own designs and the roses I made from old paper/card and spray painted it silver and touched it up with silver glitter. The love you was from a card stack I had.

Hand Painted Furniture

I was going through my external hard drive and found some pics of hand painted mirrors and boxes etc. It was shortly after I started painting and had my first child, I painted a giraffe on his wardrobe. Then got some people asking if I would paint them something. So I did it for friends and family and thought that I might sell the stuff but I then proceeded to have two more children and that got left in the dust. So just thought I would share with you some of my first attempts at painting, I was a late starter.

Simon Says Challenge - Make your own embellishments

At Simon Says Challenge this week it is to make your own embellishments. I always have a look at their challenges but never have really had a chance to enter but always want to.

Mine is a heart I made for my daughter who loves hearts and pink and everything girly. I made these flowers out of recycled paper and added it to a large card heart. I then spray painted it silver and touched it up with a pink stickles.

The prize if you win is $50, which is amazing. So I suggest you go and get something done using your own handmade embellishments cos there sure is a lot of goodies in that Simon Says Store.

HDH076 - Love Bites

Over at Haunted Design House the challenge this week is Love Bites. Romance is dead, and we want to see that in your artwork.

Now I chose to make a vampire teeth brooch and have blood drips dangling. One of which says love bites and the other is a little ghostly face. The tin was an old altoid mints one that I decorated with nail polish (yes I know it's supposed to be for your nails!). I used a strange skins digi, the key for the tin. They have some great horror images and other images for the less squeamish

Even though the vamps teeth have been removed, she still loves him and keeps them in a tin.

Below is the image that is inside one of the blood drips, originally it was to be a tear drop but for obvious reasons that didn't work but I love this little ghostly image so....

Below again is the vamp teeth brooch.

And below here is the tin with the strange skin digi swirly key which is only $4 to purchase and you can purchase a heart that they key is linked with. There are a few sets like this but don't listen to me go have a peek.

The challenge this week at Simply Betty Challenges is WHITE OUT! Your entire card must be white...designer paper, card stock, embellies, the works - with the exception of your colored image. As soon as I heard this challenge I had monster dude in my sights, I love this guy. I coloured him using copics. Used my cuttlebug with nesties to cut out some glittered card and then embossed the top one. Put on some white furry stuff and used some patterend vellum with some glittery flowers.

Are you all suitably scared now, well you should be mwahahaha!

I was a real cop out this week and had to go for the easy option. Can you believe these three kids of mine have been taking it in turn to catch a virus! Well needless to say they just want Mummy so I had to try and do something that would be possible with a little un in one arm and the possibility of stopping to give another one a reassuring cuddle. Supermum to the rescue (not).

Kentucky Fried Cannibal, anybody? I really wanted to do a zombie entry boohoo. Has anybody been watching Being Human this week they had a zombie girl and it was so funny (well I thought it was!).

HDH074 - Angels and Demons

This week at Haunted Design House you have to use an "angelic" product and/or images and creep them out like only HDH'ers can :)

Now Barb sent us some amazing products from The Angel Company. Gorgeous ribbons and card that has the most amazing texture and thickness and some really groovy stamps. Now I am not the best with stamps and tried my best so I stamped the edges of the main paper with one of the swirly stamps and embossed it with clear emboss (awful I know). The diamond paper I used ultra thick embossing powder and cracked it up. I used a simply betty steampunk image. The bat is a cuttlebug die with stickles.

The story is that she looks like an angel but is really a soul collector for you know who! What did ya think the basket was for!!

Simply Betty Challenge #4 - Bling it On

This week at Simply Betty you are to create a card with bling. There is a little talented girl who is only 9 years old and is the daughter of an avid crafter and her name is Emmy. The stamp used was her prize to choose a design and this is what the design team have used.

This is a card I have made for my brother's girlfriend for her birthday. I have used lots of bling and stickles on the main simply betty steampunk image which I have covered in anitas 3d gloss and the butterfly at the top is a charity cancer button.

Haunted Design House Challenge - Smudgetastic

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based project using images that have been colored/rendered with charcoal, pencils, pastels, or chalk.

Well this week Barb isn't very well and in her weaker moments she decided to use some of my images for the challenge (when she regains strength eek hahah!).

This is my Banshee and is she coming for you I hope not! Anyway I smudged up her hair and cheeks charcoal style and added some screams to the background as the Banshee whails when she is coming for you. Banshees really creep me out especially is you read the old folk lore.

I can't believe how amazing the design team made my images look I was well chuffed. I kept calling my hubby to look at their work. Oh how we oo'd and ah'd haha seriously go check out their stuff they are in the words of my American friends AWESOME (I always feel weird saying that and usually put on a silly voice).

The selected Gruesome Twosome win some of my images and there will be a little craft prize for the prize winner.
