HDH139 - Strange Brew

This week at Haunted Design House the challenge is Strange Brew.  A recipe and a sponsorship from Strange Skin.

Strange Skin has a unique selection of digital images
that pander more to the horror hounds and macabre minded.
They have darkly beautiful images too. You should check them out
and decide for yourself.

So here is the recipe you must follow to play along with us in the dungeon this week.
Begin with 2 layers (actual card counts as one layer)
Add 1 main image panel
Mix in some metal bits of your choosing
Add some drops of black pearls
Gently fold in 1 punched element
Tie up nicely with some ribbon or trim

I went for the Wolfman which I first fell in love with after seeing Creepy Glowbugg's card using him.

I don't have many punch alone punches so I used a bit of the crackle punch and added it to the bottom of the wolfman to the left.

More New Digis at Smudgetastic

My daughter at the moment is obsessed with hearts, so I have been adding hearts to everything haha.  My hubby and I keep noticing heart stickers on each other that she has put on us.

These images are available at smudgetastic digis.

HDH138 - Eerie Elegance

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that depicts elegance in it's most strangest of forms.
You know the style we're talking about. That strange and bizarre, yet
captivating and intriguing bit of oddness.

This week at Haunted Design House I had problems with this one as I couldn't really think of anything elegant and eerie (well nothing that I could do).  I decided a bracelet was elegant (on the right wrist) and used some eerie Dilly Bean images.  She also has a sale at them moment too.  I traced them on to shrink plastic and coloured them with promarkers, very badly indeed as my three year old was sitting on my knee at the time.   I think it adds to the charm though! haha.

HDH137 - Perplexing Pigment Play

This week at Haunted Design House, we have a Bugaboo as a sponsor and they have most generously offered up 7 digis to the winner.  They have a challenge blog too which I never knew about but am defo going to check it out which is here.

The challenge is called perplexing pigment play and you are to use the colours, black, teal, purple, and lime green.  Basically, anything goes as long as you use the prescribed color palletand make it creepy (cute) in nature.

My hubby is always saying that I bruise like a peach as there is not a day goes by without me getting at least three bruises or cuts!  I am such a clutz, no table or door handle is safe with me around.  So I chose to make my card about bruises seeing as it is perplexing pigment play.

The image I am using is Skelekinz Wings.

I made a keychain with shrink plastic:

I made a card using the colours from the challenge.  I used one three of those inks with the shiny stuff in it (duh) with the chosen colours of the challenge.

I drew the peach with a little worm popping out and hand stamped a bit of rymans card stock and rubbed some purple ink over it with a sponge.

HDH136 - True Blood

Well I have been so out of sorts this last couple of weeks and it just keeps coming.  I forgot to post my Haunted Design House post.  Real clever but it seems to be the way at the moment.

This week (what is left of it!)  the challenge theme is True Blood.  If you haven't seen it and still want to enter then anything vampre, werewolf, shapeshifer, goddess, faerie etc will do.

My projects are extremely gaff but I don't even have an excuse.  This is supposed to be V (vampire blood which in True Blood gives you a high).  I used food colouring and raspberry jam.

The cupcake is two jam marks and the teeth are polymer clay and also the attachment to the bottle is red beads and polymer clay with a plastic dome on top.

You still have until Sunday to enter so pop on over and check out the delicious projects the guys have come up with.

Smudger Challenge 3 - Skulls

It's the start of a new month and the start of a new challenge over at the Smudger Challenge Blog. I thought this month in keeping with the Skull Day of which there is a blog hop (link on my sidebar if you want to participate, courtesy of Smeared and Smudged with lots of prizes along the hop).

I have only half done my first project, which is using one of my daughters old dolls. I forgot to take a pic of her before I took the paint off her face.

I painted her in a sugar skull fashion and I have still to make her some suitable clothing and hair accessories. I shall post more pics throughout the month of my progress.

The winner of last month's handmade prize is Annette G from Netty's Crafting. Thank you for using one of my images and I hope you enjoy your pumpkin pin cushion.

The winner of the vamp bunny digi is No 2 Monique, please email me for your digi.

The handmade prize for this month which you might win if you use one of my digis is a handmade brooch:

This month's digi prize which you can win without using my digis is:

The challenge is a month long one so if you find the time it would be great if you could participate.  The new digis are also on the blog to purchase now at Smudgetastic Digis.
