Delicious Doodles - anything but a card

This week at Delicious Doodles the challenge is to create anything but a card.  Well that suits me just fine as I suck at cardmaking (majorly!).

I have made a crimbo ornament.  I used the skull wreath from the Delicious Doodles digi shop.  I coloured them red and green then edged the sides with a distress ink pad weathered wood I think.  I then put on my melting pot dipped it in, put it in the garage to cool down then cracked it and went over the top with tattered rose.  It doesn't show up well in the pic but in real life you can see all the cracks.

Anyway get your butt over to the delicious doodles digi shop and see some of the amazing images she draws.  Something for everyone be you cutesy or goth.

My kids all want a piece of me so I better go and tend to their needs 8 year old wants me to film his lego army, 5 year old wants me to make her a wishing stone and 3 year old just wants me haha.

Crafty Individuals Blog Candy Win

I just wanted to write a post about the Crafty Individuals online stamp company.  I was the lucky winner of the £150+ blog candy prize and only a day after winning I received my prize.  They payed £8.65 to post it as well as sending all of the amazing crafting goodies.

The goodies are amazing and just as pictured in the post.  They also have a facebook page, where I found them here.  So if you are not already a follower I highly recommend it!  The packaging on the craft goodies was exceptional too, everything in mint condition.

THANK YOU CRAFTY INDIVIDUALS, YOU ROCK!

Sparkle and Glitter Challenge - Winter in White

This week at the Rick St Dennis MFA Sparkle and Glitter Challenge Blog you are to create something using mostly white.  I decided to use the opportunity to make this for my best friend who is a wee gem of a person, she gets my quirkiness.

Well my card looks a lot better in real life but I just can't get the light to take a decent pic, it is so dull here in Scotland!

I have just coloured the bows red for a little dash of colour and then used greys and some off yellows to shade.  Then lots of stickles to try and brighten it up a bit.

It doesn't show on the pic but I cut her out and added her to a vellumy type tissue paper, but in the photo it just looks like I cut round the paper.

Anyway still lots of time to get your card done for the challenge.

HDH157 - Hammer House of Horror

This is the last challenge in Haunted Design House until the New Year!  There will of course be Wednesday's post so check back then for some more cool minions projects and from now until January I am sure there will be some creepiness.

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece

that is a tribute to Hammer Films http://www.hammerfilms.com

I chose The Witching Hour although my painting is nothing like the pic but what the hoo it looks spooky to me!

I painted it with acrylics on a canvas pad.

This is how it started out which is more of the way the shape of the face should have been but I stupidly thinned it.

Anyways you really need to go check out the minions work it is very cool.

Papelitos Stamp Nonsense

Hi guys just sharing a post with you from Jenn Blakeney Borjeson about Papelitos Stamps.  I have previously bought stamps from Papelitos them and now cannot use them as they were not her images to sell.

Please read this post as it explains about the artists that Papelitos has been stealing from etc.  Jenn and Glo have been investigating and informing these artists that their work has been stolen.

HDH156 - Nosferatu Ad nauseam

This week for Haunted Design House you are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece

that has anything to do with Vampires. Lots of vampires!
Tribute to the unholy Vampire!!
Fangs, blood, sensuality.
We want to see your interpretation of the beautiful or the deadly Vampyre.

We have a fabby sponsor this week, none other than Rick St. Dennis MFA.

Rick has a wonderfully dark line of Creepmas images and many
masterfully drawn everyday macabre images.
He also has more mainstream images available as well.

Now not only have the Minions been given some digis to work with, but
BOTH Gruesome Twosomes will win 3 digis of their choice.
I think we will be inundated with entries this week!
There is also a challenge blog called Sparkle and Glitter with Rick St. Dennis,
which features a couple of our own Minions as DT members.

I chose to use Don't Go In There.  These images are so intricate they don't even need coloured in but it was fun colouring all the same.

I recycled a matchsticks chocolate box.  Coloured the image with promarkers and copics.  I made the flower on the right and coloured that with promarkers and drew bats on then stuck some ribbon and tulle coming out of it and made the flower in the centre from paper and added red stickles for the blood.  I also made the soap using parma voilet scent and red drops to indicate blood.  Each soap has the next part of the keyring to be added to the cross keychain which is in the pic.  I added a pic of nosferatu to the bottom of the box and used black glitter glue on the edges to make it darker. I also added a shrink plastic batt ot he right hand corner on acetate to make it look like he is flying above the guy.

I tried to make his hair look as if it had shocked white with a white gel pen but I don't think it worked out too well.  I still can't get over the detail on the door, very very cool image.

This flower was a couple of the cheap ones you get in a packet and I just coloured them up and added stickles to the edge etc as described above.

Shrink plastic bat with blood drip using stickles and red perfect pearls.

NOSFERATU (how cool is he!)

Shrink plastic keychains duhhh!

The holy water one is blurry but the others turned out not too bad.

Now to be in with a chance to win one of the fab prizes from our sponsor you have to enter so get your thinking caps on and get creating.

I would also like to enter this in to the Rick St Dennis MFA Sparkle and Glitter challenge No 2 Spooky or sweet. and the not real stamps challenge for Halloween.

HDH155 - RIP

Am late posting this should have been Monday but the littlest one is poorly at the moment so it is today.

The challenge at haunted design house this week is that has anything to do with cemeteries, coffins, headstones, or funerals. Any and all things resting in peace.

I decided to use my time playing with the kids to my advantage mwahaha. We were playing lego and all had to create something and guess what the others had made. Kieran made a star wars rebel base, Alexandria made a shop, D'Arcy made a mess and well I told them it was a scene from Paranorman but just said that to make it acceptable to them lmao. Eek your Mum is a freak!

I present my lego zombie grave scene:

The skeleton bodies lying about are from lego Ninjago, the creature in the grave is Gollum, the creature with the chain on his neck is the Hulk and the fence is from my daughters lego collection the axe wielding guy is a mixture of lego minfigures.  I LOVE lego.  Think I am the only mother that does, we often get the lego down both my sons and my daughters and move the rug from the living room and create little scenes (usually not graveyard ones, more spaceships and houses etc).

Anyway let us see what you guys can come up with.  The sky is the limit!

HDH154 - Bats in the Belfry

At Haunted Design HOuse this week the challenge is to create something dark, gothic using bats. Think belfries, church steeples and all round general battiness! For this weeks project I used a Rick St Dennis image Mistress Vampyra and a bat from porkchopsow along with a charm bat attached to my handmade flower. I also got a piece of blue paper sprayed it with cosimic shimmer then covered it in glue and added blue glitter (for once I quite like the effect).

Can you bring out your general battiness?

I would also like to enter this in the Rick St Dennis challenge over at his new blog Sparkle and Glitter where the first challenge is just that and we have our own minion Teri sponsoring with her wonderful images too.

HDH153 - Creepy Cryptids

This week at Haunted Design House we have a fabby sponsor.  Cryptocurium, a shop who sells awesome sweets.  They are offering up two amazing prizes of four lollipops for the gruesome twosome.

Just click on the pic to go to the store and see the wonderful products.

What can you do to win this prize, I hear you ask?  Well you have to create something that has something to do with a creature or plant whose existence has been suggested but is unrecognized by scientific consensus and often regarded as highly unlikely! Think Loch Ness Monster, Yeti, even Faeries.

I went for a squashed Willo the Wisp, the Hairy Haggis sat on it.  I painted it with acrylics and sprayed it with cosmic shimmer.

What Cryptid will you choose?

Don't forget to check back on Wednesday at Haunted Design House for the rest of the minions work too.

Fundraising + Focus

I am not best known for finishing things.  Our garage and loft are full of projects not yet finished!!  I came across another of my drawings that I will have to get around to!

On the plus side I have finished a little snowman for the kids fundraiser at christmas.  I also did two other ornaments but haven't photographed them yet.

Wild Orchid Chalenge - Autumn Colours

I managed to make a little tag using some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers for the wild orchid challenge blog, some leaves and one of my pumpkin digis. I then added some posh metallic inks to the edges of the card.

Very simple but will come in handy in October me thinks.

Anyway two brill prizes up for grabs.

HDH151 - I'm Melting

WEll it is that time again where I prove that I really am a freak hiding in a normal persons skin!  This week at Haunted Design House the challenge is that has something to do with melted wax, candles, witches, or melted fleshThe possibilities really are endless with this oneIt's time to start tapping into your Halloween spirit, and create something seasonally spectacular

I first created a clay vampire mouth then pulled the clay to make it look like it was being melted.  I then painted a canvas black sprayed on some yellow, red, orange and a tinge of blue cosmic shimmer sprays to the background (which haven't shown up in the pic but what the who!)  I then painted using acrylics, some flames up in to the face.

I know, I know I am a freak and proud haha.

So let us see how you interpret this challenge.  Be sure to see how the other minions have put their own personal twist on the challenge.

HDH150 - Oh My Gourd

Well this week at Haunted Design House we are being sponsored by Funworld's Floating Pumpkin HangersI knew there would be no pumpkins about at this time here so I opted to just make a project relating to a pumpkin but the others came up with some fabby stuff.

Mine was made with newclay (very rushed as I thought we were to sit it out if we weren't using a suspension kit.  I got that wrong oops.  So the paint job isn't so fab as I painted on wet newclay.  Enough of my rants anyways here is the culprit:

Well you have until sunday night to play along.

HDH149 - Bare Bones

This week at Haunted Design House the challenge is that uses NO dimensional embellishments. That's right.  No rhinestones, no pearls, no ribbons, no chipboard. Pretty much a clean and simple layout. It doesn't have to be a single layer card, but no bumpy bits.

I did some ATCs.  Four are painted and one is using a skull freebie from the Graphics Fairy.

This was painted on kraft cardstock with acrylics.  I messed up her neck but I was too tired to fix it.

This lovely lady is Linda the Grotesque.  There will be more of these .....

These are called trapped souls.  You can't really see the shimmer but the background was painted with cosmic shimmer inks.

The skull below is a freebie from the graphics fairy.  I got a red piece of paper and a blue one and sprayed different coloured inks and rubbed the papers in them to try and have an interesting background.

Brainz.  Yeah pretty shoddily painted but I am a lazy git!

This was painted on canvas and backed with an atc card.  Acrylics for Nosferatu (ins't he a honey).

I have actually done more atcs but am crap at photographing them so just gave up for another day.

I can't wait to see what bare boned projects you guys come up with.

Smudger Challenge 6 - Reduce Reuse Recycle.

This month at the  smudger challenge blog we thought it would be good to do a recycle challenge.  Create anything with at least one recycled product used.

I have recently started doing some ATCs after seeing one of my blogging buddies cool cards.  Anyway my recycling is I used the packaging from the kids school shirts to make the ATCs.

All images used are from the smudgetastic digi site.

This ATC has a flame which has been done on shrink plastic and coloured with promarkers/copics.  The background for that is a nestie and I have put various inks and shimmers and mised them for a flame effect.

This guy has a stake and hammer at the side and a coffin that I made.

Anyway would be great if you could join in the challenge this month at Smudger Challenge Blog, we only had three entries last month boo hoo hoo, hehe.
