Happy Halloween

Firstly happy birthday wishes to Netty, hope it's a great one.  Secondly a big thank you to Gloria aka Creepy Globugg for the most amazing halloween card I have ever seen and thirdly to post a couple of pics.

I cut out shapes from card the size of my toilet tiles then I added some of my drawings that I had coloured with copics and promarkers.  I then laminated them so they wouldn't get ruined when the sink was used.

These are two fisherman that are in our toilet  I made one a ghost and the other the grim reaper.  I used an old trouser leg for the grim reaper and added card and tinfoil and I cut a bit of my sons old school shirt for the ghost.  In the middle is a brain soap I  made.

These are the cupcakes I made which actually look much better than this pic shows.  I added edible glitter and they looked fab.

I added this to the top of my walls for the drippy goo effect using black paper.

I made this pumpkin last year and my hubby decided it would be great floating from the ceiling.

I made this using an old doll that was broken and was going to have to be thrown out so I thought rather than bin it use it here (bit weird looking I know but really effective)

I made this tree below using twigs from the cycle path and an old tin which I covered with purple paper and embossed with stars then added some blood drips with card and anita's 3d gloss.  I also put some green fibre round the top and bottom to hide the rims.  I painted the twigs black then added some glitter and fake spider webs.

I made a paper cake with treats and stuff inside instead of a party bag and forgot to take a pic of it (am so mad at myself as it did look really good).  I have some more pics of things I have done but will maybe load them later.

Happy Halloween

Art on the Darkside Challenges - 3D

I know it's not great and I would love to have spent more time on it fixing out all of the imperfections but to be honest I am sick of looking at it and just wanted it baked and painted and thrown out of my sight ha!.    Well she is a vampire (would like to say Queen of the Damned but as my brother pointed out she looks nothing like her haha) and I decided to enter this into the Art on the Darkside Challenge which is 3D this week.

It is made out of polymer clay two different kinds, Sculpey and Fimo just whatever came to hand.  I stupidly put white gel pen on her eyes for the glint and it looks terrible but I will fix that when I can find the exact paint colour I used.

HDH - Simply Sinister

At Haunted Design House this week it is to create something simple ( not a lot of stuff or layers etc) but sinister.  So I had this canvas board and just splodged red paint on it and added Gigi from Simply Betty Stamps.  You can't judge her she is a vampire who has just been turned and she does try, honesty ponesty!  She couldn't help herself, hence the whoopsy and that coy cute smile and pose.

All I can say is very simple and very sinister.

Painting for Hubby

Well it is fast approaching my hubby's birthday and he has wanted me to do him a painting of his canoe for ages.  So I gave it a go this morning as the weather is terrible here so...I got my paints out, got my son on the laptop playing lord of the rings, got my two girlies some craft stuff to play with and went to it.  I am not pleased at all but I am just learning.  I got taught the other week at art class about mixing colours but am still very pathetic at it.  The painting I have done is way too dark but what can you do.

Anyway the top left is obviously the pic and the top right is my attempt at watercolour which I gave up cos I was terrible at that too.  The bottom is my acrylic attempt, maybe I should just do a pencil drawing for him tehe.

Well my three year old shouted upstairs we have a surprise for you daddy mummy is painting your canoe,  not much of a suprise anymore.  Hubby seems to like it though so that is all that matters in my book.

Haunted Design House - Dastardly Digis

At haunted design house this week it is to create a digital project.  This is my attempt at doing it digital, as you can see a bit of a mess but what the hoo.  She has just been bitten by her one true love pity he's a bat.  My hubby came up with the saying which I thought was quite cute in a weirdo kind of way.   I used two of my own digis, the bat and the girl which I had drawn from a pic from a magazine many moons ago.

You won't believe this but I actually have staved my toe on the same side as my bad knee (what a clutz!!).  Hubby says I need to slow down and stop jumping around like a maniac haha with kids, surely that can't be possible.

Anyways I gotta go check out the design team and the other entries, always a delight.

Egg Man

kookookachoo....  Alas poor egg man has been made into the gawkiest looking thing I have ever laid eyes upon.  I messed up his eyes his nails.  His fingers broke off and I had to superglue them back on again. I couldn't find my thin paintbrushes so me being me I rushed in and painted with a bigger one instead and I ruined his eyes.  Oh and I added anitas 3d gloss to his tongue and eyes you can't really see it in the pic.  Did I mention how much I hate what I have done to his poor eyes.

Anyway I am introducing you to a poor simple egg man:

Hopefully this guy isn't a sign of things to come.  I am going to persevere though because I find this very relaxing and enjoyable sculpting and you know what they say practice makes passable hehe.  Oh sorry Creepy if you read this yes it is a real eggshell, I wouldn't even know how to try and tackle making an egg shell.

Haunted Design House - Magical Mayhem

This week at haunted design house the challenge is anything associated with magic. I chose witchcraft, I thought this would be good on a shelf for halloween and I will make some other different jars to go with it.

A young man once stole the heart of a beautiful witch he wasn't much to look at but he had his rustic charms, they had a wonderful few weeks together until his roving eye was turned to the village strumpet. One day while collecting herbs for her potions she spied her young love but as she was about to call to him he crossed over a bridge where she could not follow, on the other side she saw him serenade another. Later that night she visited him and gave him one of her potions telling him it would make him more attractive. Unbeknown to him he had taken a shrinking potion, when he had shrunk to the size of a newborn black familiar she took him and imprisoned him in this jar where she placed a hex of boils and warts to keep his soul contained until he was ready to accept her as his one true love obviously she has been waiting a long long time.

I had to write the label out as we are all out of printer ink, that is why it is pretty naff and I have centred it wrong.  I crumpled it and used a distress pad.  I got the little skeleton from poundland and I put him in some yellow food dye and water.  The lid I made from you guessed it polymer clay, tried to make them look like big ugly boils and warts (I know pretty shoddy shoddy shoddy).  I put lots and I mean lots of anitas 3d gloss on it as I wanted it to look slimy (I so love this stuff I have like 5 bottles of it).  I tied a fibre I got in a ribbony type pack.

Anyway I know I am weird and a bit mad but do I care what you think when I am sitting here in my dungeon tackling my next challenge mwahaha.  My hubby just now laughs at me when I show him things and says brilliant but you are bonkers and spins his finger at his temple just to clarify this.  Don't judge me!!!! hehe (that is what my 5 and 3 year old say when I give them into trouble).
