Haunted Design House Challenge Angels and Demons HDH074

HDH074 - Angels and Demons

This week at Haunted Design House you have to use an "angelic" product and/or images and creep them out like only HDH'ers can :)

Now Barb sent us some amazing products from The Angel Company.  Gorgeous ribbons and card that has the most amazing texture and thickness and some really groovy stamps.  Now I am not the best with stamps and tried my best so I stamped the edges of the main paper with one of the swirly stamps and embossed it with clear emboss (awful I know).  The diamond paper I used ultra thick embossing powder and cracked it up.  I used a simply betty steampunk image.    The bat is a cuttlebug die with stickles.

The story is that she looks like an angel but is really a soul collector for you know who!  What did ya think the basket was for!!

Simply Betty Challenge #4 - Bling it On

This week at Simply Betty you are to create a card with bling.  There is a little talented girl who is only 9 years old and is the daughter of an avid crafter and her name is Emmy.  The stamp used was her prize to choose a design and this is what the design team have used.

This is a card I have made for my brother's girlfriend for her birthday.  I have used lots of bling and stickles on the main simply betty steampunk image which I have covered in anitas 3d gloss and the butterfly at the top is a charity cancer button.

Will not get to check out your blogs this weekend as we have visitors so will catch up on Tuesday.

HDH-073 Smudgetastic

Haunted Design House Challenge - Smudgetastic

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based project using images that have been colored/rendered with charcoal, pencils, pastels, or chalk.

(similar digital techniques allowed)

Well this week Barb isn't very well and in her weaker moments she decided to use some of my images for the challenge (when she regains strength eek hahah!).

This is my Banshee and is she coming for you I hope not!  Anyway I smudged up her hair and cheeks charcoal style and added some screams to the background as the Banshee whails when she is coming for you.  Banshees really creep me out especially is you read the old folk lore.

I can't believe how amazing the design team made my images look I was well chuffed.  I kept calling my hubby to look at their work.  Oh how we oo'd and ah'd haha seriously go check out their stuff they are in the words of my American friends AWESOME (I always feel weird saying that and usually put on a silly voice).

The selected Gruesome Twosome win some of my images and there will be a little craft prize for the prize winner.

Simply Betty Challenge 3

HAPPY 13TH BIRTHDAY RIO X

This week at Simply Betty is a sketch from the very talented Cheri.  I would have loved to post off a card for little Rio (stamp can be purchased here, all donations will be going to St Jude's hospital as per her request) but alas will have to suffice with an email card as no way am I getting near a post office in the next few weeks.

Anyway this is my birthday card for Rio.

Simply Betty Challenge #2 Make it Classic

At Simply Betty Challenges you are to create a card using black and white and with the option of silver but you can also either add pink or red.  I did another digital entry for this one.  I chose to make her hair red (like I really needed to point that out).

Sorry for extremely short post (or hallelujah!).  We are totally done in, the middle one has made it her goal in life to see that we are sleep deprived zombies and the other two are sick as we are now.  See exciting stuff you young flibbity jibbits.

Macabre Monday 072 Hell Hath No Fury

This week at the Haunted Design House the challenge is:

Hell Hath No Fury

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based project showcasing bad-ass bitches on a rampage. Bitter much? This challenge is PERFECT for a little emotional purging :)

Now I had problems with this one as I did a few things and showed them to my hubby and he is brutally honest with me (which is a good thing he doesn't kiss butt so I know he's telling the truth if he says he likes something).  Well needless to say he didn't get the first two so I did a third and here it is which is made from super sculpey and painted with watered acrylics for that gaunt look:

I think my poor daughter will be traumatised by this one when she sees how Mummy is using her doll's house for such wicked displays.

Now I kinda feel sorry for this guy cos he isn't dead he has been holed up in the wall and is just sleeping for the moment.  She is tormenting him and all he did was take away her credit card hehe.  To add insult to injury she has his head on a toilet seat.

Now if you think that was gross go check out the rest of the design team's work they are both brilliant and hilarious.

Oh Alice Chapter 46 - Mostly Red or White

At Oh Alice the challenge this week was mostly red or white.  Well this was an easy choice for me as red is my all time favourite colour then it is the colour combo of turquoise and lime green (no you didn't ask I'm just saying hehe).

So I used a steampunk image from the Octopode Factory.  Then added red or dead cos that's how I roll hehe (god I am in a silly sarky mood!).

Stamp it Crazy Challenge #2 - Fairyland here we come

This is the second challenge of the year at Stamp It Crazy (some fab rubber and digi stamps there, have to get me some and soon).  Anyway this challenge is to incorporate a fairy, pink, purple, ribbon and glitter.  I decided to make a little ornament for my girls.

I think I hardly used any of my own stash on this most of it was from kind blogging buddies.  I used a diecut birdcage and feathers from the fabulously talented artist Netty.  The spider stamp at the bottom (which is super cool) and the pink ribbon were from another very talented lady Barb from Haunted Design House and the sparkle at the bottom was stickles that the crazy but extremely talented Gloria aka creepy glowbugg sent to me.  (I am a total skadge!).  I used pink and purple ribbon and beads.  A polymer fairy stamp I purchased a couple of years ago.  There are three faerie charms at the bottom and I used a lot of stickles in a few colours.  The spider has purple glitter on his body and his web is stickled up.  Oh the paper at the back is Magnolia (very very cute).

Anyway the pictures are pretty cruddy it does look better in real life but you have to take my word for it and I wouldn't trust me if my life depended on it!!

Simply Betty Challenge #1 and Blog Hop

A blog hop at Simply Betty Challenges and their first challenge of 2011.  I hope I visited all of the blogs cos there was a lot of eye candy to go around.

Anyway this is my love card.

The flowers I had made and taken a pic of.  This is a digital entry I coloured the images digitally and used one of the digi images I got from the Help for Katie and added a freebie love you image from digital doodling which I have just sadly read is closing down.

Faerie Wishing Heads

These aren't great but I didn't have a lot of time to prepare them.  My Gran who is 96 soon to be 97 has lost interest in most things but still loves a good faerie story etc so I sculpted these little faerie heads and got my hubby to jazz up my story to go with it and she loved them plus the story and rhyme.

DISCLAIMER no faeries were hurt during this process!!

Macabre Monday HDH071 - Bizarre Birthday

Well this week at Haunted Design House we are having our weekly Macabre Monday challenge which is to create a card/project with the theme of a bizarre birthday.

I chose Poe as it would be a pretty bizarre birthday theme.  I used an Octopode Factory steampunk image (you should check out Lilly's work it is fantastic and she has lots of characters to choose from).  I drew the Poe head and made him into balloons (I know how strange am I really!!!!).

Macabre Monday HDH070 - Nightmarish New Year

Nightmarish New Year

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based Winter Holiday card representing those long forgotten resolutions that NEVER seem to be carried out.

This is my first week as a DT member at the amazing Haunted Design House and boy am I thrilled to pieces.  I absolutely love the DT work they are such a talented quirky bunch as are the participants (amazing how different everybody interprets things).

Anyway this is my first piece:

The background is a freebie from The Graphics Fairy.  This little guy's name is Gimpo and  I drew him and turned him into a digi.

Anyway if you haven't already entered one of the challenges at Haunted Design House, what are you waiting for!!!

Hope you all had a most wonderful New Year and the coming year brings you lots of happiness.
