SBC Last Challenge for Crimbo

Well I completely forgot about this challenge. I have had to drag myself away from opening more kids toys and trying to figure out what is what!

Simply Betty Challenges Last day of Crimbo:

Stinky McSlinky didn't get what he asked for his crimbo so he is teaching his gf a lesson with the help of the little assassin ninja cat.  Ho Ho Ho!

Simply Betty Stamps Christmas Day 10

Woohoo I won the last Simply Betty challenge, I don't know how but I did yay.

Anyways on to todays challenge which is christmas caroling or scaroling.  I chose the stinkmeister himself smelly sock and candy addicted lil maniac for my carolers.

I changed the song to tis the season to be stinky.  Tried to make them both look like santa's outfits also that and I just love love love red.

Anyways back to reality I can smell a very stinky nappy and the nappy isn't going to change itself so.... tis the season to be stinky falalala lala la la.

Sorry I have been doing so many digital posts lately (not that my no digital posts are anything to be missed) but I seriously cannot brave the garage for my craft stuff it is so cold here and if the weather forecasts are right it is getting worse by  the end of the week.

Simply Betty Xmas Day 9

I feel like my head is going to explode my youngest is at that stage where she can't tell you what is wrong or what she wants so she just whines and whinges constantly and it is driving me mad, thankfully as I remember it never lasts that long until they are barking orders at you day and night hehe I know the other two do!!   It's just as well they are so darned cute.

Anyways back to the challenge it is to create a project using a Simply Betty Image for the Ghost of Christmas Past.  I thought what better than a Steampunk Image they are just so cool and I would use an excuse to use them in just about everything hehe.  Anyways it is another digital entry from me cos I am lazy lazy lazy.. too cold in garage to rummage for craft stuff so will have to wait until it is warmer to sort it all out.  The background is from a fantastic site called ceremony share, they have the  most amazing freebies there.  I made two ghostly outlines of mercius and one proper one.  I added a ticket that says one journey to xmas past.

Macabre Monday - Octopodally Ominous

At Haunted Design house this week the challenge is to create a card / project using eight items.  I have used a canvas and sprayed it with glimmer mist glacier and cosmic shimmer blue lagoon and swirled it around with my fingers then added a black glitter glue and swirled that too.  I used a page and distressed the edges with tim holtz ink pad tattered rose then added little bit of red and white stickles then rubbed some over the page itself to give it a sparkle (you can't really see in the pic).  I used one of my digi drawing and used 3d gloss on her then with some coordinations black cauldron cardstock I wet it and scraped it and generally bashed it up then gloss embossed it put it in the freezer and cracked it up good style.  The flower at the top corner I made with some scrap material I got from the pound shop.  I put a backing on the cracked backing to the girl (I make no sense whatsoever tralala).  Anyway to cut a long long long boring story very short, I stuck to the eight Canvas, Backing x 2, image, flower, page, pearls x 2 totaling eight.

I added two pics, I am so terrible at taking pics and hubby always says he will take them for me but I am so impatient that I cannot wait about for this tehe (toe tapping).  The pics haven't shown up the glimmer mist very well but it does look lovely shiny sparkly.

Watched the last episode in the series of The Walking Dead last night, I feel so cheated I didn't know last night was the end of the series, come on I can't wait for the new series I so love that show!!!

My Brother the Zombie

After perusing Phil Hynes site and not really having the money to actually have him make my brother into a zombie, I decided to make my own.  Now this guy Phil Hynes is a genius with clay and if I had the money I would defo have got him to do it as he is extremely talented, so defo check out his site.

Now my brother is an extremely good looking guy this does resemble him but I have managed to make him not so attractive hmm.  That is a playstation 3 controller in his hand and his fingers are bitten off and so is his mouth.

  The armature

I baked using fimo first to have a hard base.

Once the Super Sculpey had been baked and before I painted him with acrylics

My zombie brother will not obviously be even close to his standard but for the time being it will have to do.  My brother and I love vampire/zombie/horror movies and have done since we were kids so I decided it would be fun to make him one for this birthday which is just after christmas.  It isn't finished as I am making our cat Willow into a zombie too she is a russian blue cat (very gorgeous looking little thing), I also need to make a base (which hubby will be doing).

Simply Betty Day 7 Emo Crimbo

Okay so todays simply betty challenge is to create a crimbo (christmas) card using an emo image and also only using purple, turquoise and lime green (love the turquoise and lime green combo).  Although we still didn't get any sleep last night I am a cheery bissum today so gonna roll with it.  Don't know my A@#$e from my elbow but nonetheless am a happy chappy.  About time too!

I got my sorry butt into the freezing cold garage today and tried to get most of the craft stuff I needed dug out before I got frostbite.

I dug out some of my nice doodlebug papers and brads etc and took over the kitchen with my stuff.  I put believe (as in Santa).  I used the emo Betty and gave her a purple santa hat with a matching skull that is on her belt as the pom pom (?).  MS crackle punch, leaf punches.  The wild orchid flower I coloured with purple and turquoise promarkers.

Now I need to get my behind into gear and get my haunted design house challenge done.

Gruesome Twosome

I won a gruesome twosome at Haunted Design House.  I really enjoy the challenges over there.  Bit of a random statement or not!! NOT at all coherent the garden fairies the garden fairies tralala!

HDH066 - MM Movie Mayhem: A Nightmare on Elm Street Gruesome Twosome:

Crystal for her delightfully cute twist on a sweet image, and Andrea for a fan-freakin-tastic painting!

How lucky am I.... most of the craft stuff I have been doing lately has been so cruddy so this is great.

Simply Betty Xmas Day 6 - Steampunk

Dear Diary

I am so so so so so so so so tired......ZZzzzzzz. He he it is freakin freezing here I went into the garage to get some craft stuff out and I nearly froze solid midway. Anyway had fun colouring but don't know if I am cut out for cards until I get my craft room/hubbys office next year. Can never find anything and hate having to pull stuff out to put it back so just try to use bare minimum without the actual benefit of the card looking other than pathetic but alas I think I have used up my quota of moans for this week and shall now put on a fake cheery smile but with dull dead eyes.... can you tell I am tired and hardly even lucid. Slap slap nearly sent myself to sleep there hehe.

This card is for Day 6 at Simply Betty and it is a Steampunk Christmas. These images are a delight to colour. Cruddy photo also...  I used a lilac to hihjlight the greys and it hasnt shown in the photo at all

Another cruddy photo of a brooch I did today for my son's school teacher's xmas pressie. She loves the Gruffalo and he is in the Gruffalo team at school so had a look around to see what gruffalo things were available and not a lot so thought I would make her a gruffalo brooch. This pic is terrible it actually looks a lot better in real life. If you have never heard of the Gruffalo and have a child then I highly recommend you go out and buy it (even if you don't then I would still buy a copy it is delightful).

Simply Betty Christmas Day 4

The Christmas theme today at Simply Betty is to add something creepy such as bats, spiders etc.  I used a bat bg and put a little black cat at the steampunk images feet (I don't remember her name!).  I made her a santa hat.

Anyway got no sleep at all last night as little miss has the cold bad she has a deep voice at the moment.  She is choked up and we took her in beside us to make sure she was breathing okay (big mistake am so grumpy today!!!!) grouch grouch grouch.

Simply Betty and Haunted Design House

This week I have added Haunted Design house and Simply Betty challenge together.  Haunted design house is to use two patterned papers and simply betty a creepy crimbo tree.

The image is a simply betty crimbo one and I changed a bit of snow on the tree to a hand (pretty gruesome but very creepy)  This little guy would stop at nothing to get the last tree in the shop, just look at his saw!!  On one of the christmas baubles it says the last tree in the shop, say no more.  For the blood it was a little trick that Scrapbooking is Cheaper than Therapy had on her site, which was to mix 3d gloss with red ink (I used paint).  I put a lovely little feather behind the sentiment bauble that my lovely friend Netty sent to me.

Anyway this one doesn't look like I employed my 3 and 1 year old to make like the last two this one has moved up to the status of a chimp hehe.

Simply Betty 12 days of Crimbo Day 1

Pretty shocking entry and I apologise, terrible terrible terrible left it to the last minute to do my card as the wee fella had earache and is now on antibiotics to clear it up and the two little ladies are both ill again!!!  I don't know what I will do when I run out of excuses for how pants my cards are haha.  One week when the kids are all fine and I have had a decent nights sleep I will have to put my hands up and say you got me I am crud at making cards haha.

Anyway here is my lame attempt for the Simply Betty Challenge 12 days of Christmas Day 1, but you gotta love the image she is gorgeous.  She is Gigi and she is one of the Simply Betty Halloween Images.

A little painting I have started work on

I drew this a while ago have lost the actual drawing but had uploaded it to docrafts that is why it is so small.
The painting I have started and as usual I will get so far and throw it in the garage and it will never see the light of day again.  Really need a proper work space where I can leave my craft/art stuff lying about and not have to tidy it up three times a day.

Just thought I would share it before I get disinterested haha my hubby says Im like a little squirrel that is doing something then a shiny nut catches it's eye before it runs off then again etc.  FOCUS!!!!

Anyway two pics one with a flash one without.

Oh Alice Chapter 40 - Hooka are You?

Well over the past couple of months I have seen some of the amazing creations that Creepy Glowbugg has been making for the oh alice challenge blog and was totaly wowed.  I have been meaning to enter for a while but have been so busy lately that crafting is a big rarity.  So when I saw this weeks challenge could be to incorporate butterflies I knew I would be able to enter as it is my daughter's 4th birthday in January and she wants a little tea party so I have been thinking of things to make her and she loves pink and butterflies and princesses and fairies etc etc (very girly, unlike Mummy dearest).

I cut the butterflies some out of glittery pink card and some out of old cereal boxes and painted pink and added some stickles.  I used some funny type knittingy wool stuff (hmm even sounds strange to me) to wrap around the top main part and added some pink feathers.  I made the roses out of cardstock and added them to the end of each side.  For the main butterfly I made a bead body and added a head bead with antennae.

Anyway my daughter caught sight of it and was so delighted so the main person pleased.

Simply Betty #6

At Simply Betty Challenges this week it is a thanksgiving place setting.  Well we don't celebrate thanksgiving here so I thought I would just do a ta place setting.  I am very thankful for my family, crazy as they are...

Very plain and simple as I couldn't dare to detract away from the image.  Can you tell I love these images...  Can't wait to use the other five I bought hehe.

I coloured him using copics and promarkers.

The back just states ta and matches the front.

Oh and Ta means Thank You

I promise to do better soon, just am time limited at the moment and my two daughters are not very well and extremely clingy little monkeys.

HDH - Ravenous Ravens

This week at Haunted Design House is to incorprate ravens into your project.  I just love the new simply betty steampunk images and had to have them all, so I have used one for this challenge and he is lamenting his lost love Lenore, the raven I outlined is sitting on an outline of the bust of Pallas, anyway I placed them on a photograph that we purchased about a year ago in a gallery in Kirkudbright.  It's actually a crow's foot but what the hoo still looks cool to me.

I really have to apologise for the photograph but it is so dull here and I am terrible at taking photos at the best of times, the hubby is the photographer in this house and he is working so....

Haunted Design House - 064 Barb's Sketch

This week at Haunted Design House there is a sketch by Barb.  I don't really have time this week as it is my son's birthday on Saturday and it is a bit hectic.  Took a little time out to throw this together, pretty simple and some might say rubbish! that someone would be me.

Apologies.

Here is the fab sketch by Barb.

OMG Steampunk Images at Simply Betty Stamps

I for some time have been planning on doing some images using steampunk and today I saw on the manic world of mrs wreymaster's blog that simply betty had some steampunk images available.  I went over to check them out and they are outstanding!!!  Seriously best images I think I have ever seen, love love love them.

Now I have to beg my hubby for a few as with crimbo coming up we are rooked buying for our three monsters and the rest.

Go here to check them out seriously you will defo want them all, and you can blame it all on me hehe.

Have a great weekend everybody and I will be back on Monday.

Attitude

OO er missus!! Can you believe that Creepy Glowbugg has passed on an attitude award to me and 4 others (one that she is very deserving of hehe).  Well a big thank you.

Now as a result, I have to list 3 things that make me different, and then I get to nominate 5 blogs of boastful attitude:

1.  I come from a family of weirdos, my hubby is weird, my kids are weird, my brother is weird, my parents are weird and lastly I am weird, and we wear our weirdo badges with pride.
2.  Housework doesn't even get a look in when a craft project comes to fruition let's just say that the house looks like a craft bomb has been set off.
3.  I'm not well liked outside my family and I don't even care (see point 1):

So now for the five people I would nominate of which Creepy would defo be on itand Barb  (but Creepy also picked her)  from Haunted Design House  but alas she gave me the award so....

1. Netty she's not really attitude as much as different and cool.
2. Another MD Crabbie her creations are full of attitude
3. Popsicle Toes she can do attitude with a lovely twist of slightly dark
4. Susan's Crafy Chaos her sentiments are ace and stocked full of attitude
5. Blackdragon's Craft, she has a very dark way of creating wonderful things

Happy Halloween

Firstly happy birthday wishes to Netty, hope it's a great one.  Secondly a big thank you to Gloria aka Creepy Globugg for the most amazing halloween card I have ever seen and thirdly to post a couple of pics.

I cut out shapes from card the size of my toilet tiles then I added some of my drawings that I had coloured with copics and promarkers.  I then laminated them so they wouldn't get ruined when the sink was used.

These are two fisherman that are in our toilet  I made one a ghost and the other the grim reaper.  I used an old trouser leg for the grim reaper and added card and tinfoil and I cut a bit of my sons old school shirt for the ghost.  In the middle is a brain soap I  made.

These are the cupcakes I made which actually look much better than this pic shows.  I added edible glitter and they looked fab.

I added this to the top of my walls for the drippy goo effect using black paper.

I made this pumpkin last year and my hubby decided it would be great floating from the ceiling.

I made this using an old doll that was broken and was going to have to be thrown out so I thought rather than bin it use it here (bit weird looking I know but really effective)

I made this tree below using twigs from the cycle path and an old tin which I covered with purple paper and embossed with stars then added some blood drips with card and anita's 3d gloss.  I also put some green fibre round the top and bottom to hide the rims.  I painted the twigs black then added some glitter and fake spider webs.

I made a paper cake with treats and stuff inside instead of a party bag and forgot to take a pic of it (am so mad at myself as it did look really good).  I have some more pics of things I have done but will maybe load them later.

Happy Halloween

Art on the Darkside Challenges - 3D

I know it's not great and I would love to have spent more time on it fixing out all of the imperfections but to be honest I am sick of looking at it and just wanted it baked and painted and thrown out of my sight ha!.    Well she is a vampire (would like to say Queen of the Damned but as my brother pointed out she looks nothing like her haha) and I decided to enter this into the Art on the Darkside Challenge which is 3D this week.

It is made out of polymer clay two different kinds, Sculpey and Fimo just whatever came to hand.  I stupidly put white gel pen on her eyes for the glint and it looks terrible but I will fix that when I can find the exact paint colour I used.

HDH - Simply Sinister

At Haunted Design House this week it is to create something simple ( not a lot of stuff or layers etc) but sinister.  So I had this canvas board and just splodged red paint on it and added Gigi from Simply Betty Stamps.  You can't judge her she is a vampire who has just been turned and she does try, honesty ponesty!  She couldn't help herself, hence the whoopsy and that coy cute smile and pose.

All I can say is very simple and very sinister.

Painting for Hubby

Well it is fast approaching my hubby's birthday and he has wanted me to do him a painting of his canoe for ages.  So I gave it a go this morning as the weather is terrible here so...I got my paints out, got my son on the laptop playing lord of the rings, got my two girlies some craft stuff to play with and went to it.  I am not pleased at all but I am just learning.  I got taught the other week at art class about mixing colours but am still very pathetic at it.  The painting I have done is way too dark but what can you do.

Anyway the top left is obviously the pic and the top right is my attempt at watercolour which I gave up cos I was terrible at that too.  The bottom is my acrylic attempt, maybe I should just do a pencil drawing for him tehe.

Well my three year old shouted upstairs we have a surprise for you daddy mummy is painting your canoe,  not much of a suprise anymore.  Hubby seems to like it though so that is all that matters in my book.

Haunted Design House - Dastardly Digis

At haunted design house this week it is to create a digital project.  This is my attempt at doing it digital, as you can see a bit of a mess but what the hoo.  She has just been bitten by her one true love pity he's a bat.  My hubby came up with the saying which I thought was quite cute in a weirdo kind of way.   I used two of my own digis, the bat and the girl which I had drawn from a pic from a magazine many moons ago.

You won't believe this but I actually have staved my toe on the same side as my bad knee (what a clutz!!).  Hubby says I need to slow down and stop jumping around like a maniac haha with kids, surely that can't be possible.

Anyways I gotta go check out the design team and the other entries, always a delight.

Egg Man

kookookachoo....  Alas poor egg man has been made into the gawkiest looking thing I have ever laid eyes upon.  I messed up his eyes his nails.  His fingers broke off and I had to superglue them back on again. I couldn't find my thin paintbrushes so me being me I rushed in and painted with a bigger one instead and I ruined his eyes.  Oh and I added anitas 3d gloss to his tongue and eyes you can't really see it in the pic.  Did I mention how much I hate what I have done to his poor eyes.

Anyway I am introducing you to a poor simple egg man:

Hopefully this guy isn't a sign of things to come.  I am going to persevere though because I find this very relaxing and enjoyable sculpting and you know what they say practice makes passable hehe.  Oh sorry Creepy if you read this yes it is a real eggshell, I wouldn't even know how to try and tackle making an egg shell.

Haunted Design House - Magical Mayhem

This week at haunted design house the challenge is anything associated with magic. I chose witchcraft, I thought this would be good on a shelf for halloween and I will make some other different jars to go with it.

A young man once stole the heart of a beautiful witch he wasn't much to look at but he had his rustic charms, they had a wonderful few weeks together until his roving eye was turned to the village strumpet. One day while collecting herbs for her potions she spied her young love but as she was about to call to him he crossed over a bridge where she could not follow, on the other side she saw him serenade another. Later that night she visited him and gave him one of her potions telling him it would make him more attractive. Unbeknown to him he had taken a shrinking potion, when he had shrunk to the size of a newborn black familiar she took him and imprisoned him in this jar where she placed a hex of boils and warts to keep his soul contained until he was ready to accept her as his one true love obviously she has been waiting a long long time.

I had to write the label out as we are all out of printer ink, that is why it is pretty naff and I have centred it wrong.  I crumpled it and used a distress pad.  I got the little skeleton from poundland and I put him in some yellow food dye and water.  The lid I made from you guessed it polymer clay, tried to make them look like big ugly boils and warts (I know pretty shoddy shoddy shoddy).  I put lots and I mean lots of anitas 3d gloss on it as I wanted it to look slimy (I so love this stuff I have like 5 bottles of it).  I tied a fibre I got in a ribbony type pack.

Anyway I know I am weird and a bit mad but do I care what you think when I am sitting here in my dungeon tackling my next challenge mwahaha.  My hubby just now laughs at me when I show him things and says brilliant but you are bonkers and spins his finger at his temple just to clarify this.  Don't judge me!!!! hehe (that is what my 5 and 3 year old say when I give them into trouble).
