EVIL RETURNS

The Minions are back!  Well most of us for a little reunion .  Who knows what might happen in the future.

For my creation  I cut up lots of paper for a mini book and aged it the paper with tea.  I sewed all of the pages together in a very odd fashion as sewing is one of the things I loathe doing.  After this I made the cover from cardboard and covered it with any paper then painted over it in brown.  For my inspiration I used the Necronomicon DVD edition from The Evil Dead.  I used a paint I had that dries a lot like modelling clay and painted in the eyes etc.

Oh no he's eating my book!

Time to hop on your broomstick and fly on over to Haunted Design House if you dare to see what evil returns creations the minions have forged from the depths of hell!

Haunted Design House May Challenge

This month we'd like you to either use some text somewhere on your creation OR make it a quick make - less than a day from start to finish.
The Minions' two favourite creations will get to display the May Macabre Masterpiece badge, and at the end of the year the person with the most badges will receive a glorious prize from the Minions. And, each month, the badge-winners are offered the chance to be GDT with us for the month's challenge. The winners for April will be announced at the May midway post, in a fortnight's time.

For my creation  I used a picture of my daughter and placed a moon over her eyes.  The quote I used for the text I found on pinterest but is actually from a book by Dia Reeves.  I then added a wolf etc.

Can't wait to see what you guys create.  Don't forget to leave the minions some love their projects are beyond amazing as always.

Haunted Design House April Challenge - Going Green

Sorry this is late we were on holiday and had no wifi!!  For punishment I will probably have to tend to the werewolves come full moon.

Are you ready for a new, macabre challenge? The theme for April is Going Green and there are multiple ways to interpret that, as long, of course, as it's also dark and macabre in some way. We don't want anything sweet and cute with spring greenery, bleurgh! You can either use the colour green somewhere in your project (the perfect excuse for zombie skin) OR you can make it about jealousy or envy (the green-eyed monster) OR you can go "green" in the eco-friendly way and up-cycle or re-cycle something.

Now pop on by to the Haunted Design House blog to see the design team's interpretation and the fabulous entrants.

I tried to paint using shades of green but wasn't very happy with the result.  I then sculpted a witch brooch using polymer clay.

February Challenge for Haunted Design House

Haunted Design House Challenge Time

I have been given a reprieve from my chains in the dungeon.  They decided one year was enough punishment.   I have had to swear a solemn oath that I will no longer try to be "normal".

For the month of February it's a love/hate thing for our challenge.

This means that you can make it about love or hate, OR use something you love, or something you hate. We're always open to interpretation, but PLEASE nothing sweet and insipid or we'll have to burn it. Seriously. No traditionally "nice" Valentine cards, ok? Make it gothic, make it creepy, make it beautifully twisted and dark and you'll receive so much Minion love that you'll need to get checked out for communicable diseases. Remember, we're now monthly and you can enter up to three macabre creations each
month.

For this month I got a picture of my husband when he was pulling a face and modified it on the computer by stretching the space between his ears so it would look better in the bottle.  I then printed it and laminated it, then stuck it in the bottle.  Well this is the story I am telling people.  You never know when they might start burning witches again!  I probably won't get cheek from him for a while :P

Glad to be back in the game again.  Hope to see you all play along with our challenge this month.

Bits and Bobs

I have been a bad blogger and even worse at commenting.  Hoping the New Year will bring a better and more ready for the world me!

Anywho, here is a few of the things I have been doing:

I made this advent calendar for the school with a little clay santa on top:

These are two paintings for Barb.  They look as if they are in a right mood with each other.

This was an other thing I did for the Mitzi challenge but forgot to post it:

These are some of the donuts for elves I made.  I added one of my pics of the completed one with the window top.  The kids loved them.  These are templates that can be added to any word processing document and printed to make your own.

I am also working on an owl that I am needle felting for my daughter for Xmas and a heart for my mum with the kid's faces on it.

Hope everyone is well and getting their craft on.

Samhain Sunset.

We're looking for the colors of a beautiful fall sunset.

I have started a piñata using the wonderful image I received.

Our sponsor is Aurora Wings

http://www.etsy.com/shop/AuroraWings

She has offered up a very generous prize of $15 worth of store credit
to each of our GTs this challenge.
Mitzi has beautiful artwork available in her store. She has digis,
ACEOs, original artwork, and more in her shop. Stop by and check it out.

The rest of the minions are cooking up a storm so don't forget to check their work out at Haunted Design House and their personal blogs.

I have still to finish the piñata but this is the basic:

First I coloured the image:

Then I scanned it and printed it on tissue paper to add to the piñata which I made by using a balloon and covering in tissue paper.

I am working on the top at the moment and will add some decoration to the base of it too.

Anyway get your butts on over to Haunted Design House and enter our challenge it is the last one of the year.

HDH #178 Macabre Monday Zombies and Creeps

Welcome to week #1 of Macabre Monday challenge,

"Zombies and Creeps."

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Hallowe'en

based art piece that showcases Zombies or Classic Creeps
in some way.

Our Sponsor this week is Simply B Stamps and the Minions are using the Limited Edition Zombies and Creeps digis, one of the newest of the Steampunk Collections drawn by the fabulous Abigail Larson.

I LOVE the Abigail Larson images, they are so intricate and wonderful!

I chose to use Collette.  I coloured her with a mix of cosmic shimmer inks, glimmer mist and distress inks and some watercolour pencils.  She looks a lot better coloured in person and I am really bad at photography so she doesn't look up to much in the photos but is very shimmery.  I also added some Wild Orchid Flowers and some of Glo's fabulous Brains from her etsy shop.  You can also purchase the brains as jewellery.  I have a pendant and a pair of earrings.

Get your bahookies on over to HDH to see the other minions creations and to check out the prize.
