Mum's Birthday Card and Baby Card

It was my Mum's birthday today and this is the card I made for my Mum using one of my digis.  I thought I would put Queen Jean as her name is Jean and she would be thinking all soppy lmao.  She loves green too.

 

 

The inside is because well she is a little bit trumpy and not embarrassed by it at all and it rhymes with Queen Jean.

 

This is a face I sculpted with Sculpey living doll (I think).

 

And the card I made for one of the girls I know who had a little baby girl.

Merdad and Merbaby

This is my next thing for my etsy shop.  They are made with polymer clay and painted with metallic paint.  The gems at the side are a mix of robins nest dew drops and semi precious and polished stones.  The little shell that looks like a unicorn horn is from a beach near to us.  To be honest I am not pleased with his face, but as usual I rushed it after I did the tail.  I feel as if I can only have my craft stuff out for limited periods so tend to rush stuff but what the hoo.

Tribal Faerie

This is my little tribal faerie that I made.  Now I didn't even think this (obviously I have a naive outlook) but my hubby said it looks like this little faerie is doing naughties to the pumpkin (dirty minded so and so).

Well I have put a few views in so you can see the pumpkin is his little pet friend (and they are just friends).  I am hoping to make more and sell them on etsy so would be grateful to know any opinions (honest ones not oh that is lovely when you are thinking in your head my god this girl is demented haha I know you already think that anyways).

Elven head

I have sculpted another little elven head and I got some fabritac so was messing about with adding hair. I just used super sculpey and some acrylic paint to add some shadows on the face.

Anyway I like this little guy so na na na na na na who says I'm not mature!

Faerie Wishing Heads

These aren't great but I didn't have a lot of time to prepare them.  My Gran who is 96 soon to be 97 has lost interest in most things but still loves a good faerie story etc so I sculpted these little faerie heads and got my hubby to jazz up my story to go with it and she loved them plus the story and rhyme.

DISCLAIMER no faeries were hurt during this process!!

My Brother the Zombie

After perusing Phil Hynes site and not really having the money to actually have him make my brother into a zombie, I decided to make my own.  Now this guy Phil Hynes is a genius with clay and if I had the money I would defo have got him to do it as he is extremely talented, so defo check out his site.

Now my brother is an extremely good looking guy this does resemble him but I have managed to make him not so attractive hmm.  That is a playstation 3 controller in his hand and his fingers are bitten off and so is his mouth.

My zombie brother will not obviously be even close to his standard but for the time being it will have to do.  My brother and I love vampire/zombie/horror movies and have done since we were kids so I decided it would be fun to make him one for this birthday which is just after christmas.  It isn't finished as I am making our cat Willow into a zombie too she is a russian blue cat (very gorgeous looking little thing), I also need to make a base (which hubby will be doing).

Art on the Darkside Challenges - 3D

I know it's not great and I would love to have spent more time on it fixing out all of the imperfections but to be honest I am sick of looking at it and just wanted it baked and painted and thrown out of my sight ha!.    Well she is a vampire (would like to say Queen of the Damned but as my brother pointed out she looks nothing like her haha) and I decided to enter this into the Art on the Darkside Challenge which is 3D this week.

It is made out of polymer clay two different kinds, Sculpey and Fimo just whatever came to hand.  I stupidly put white gel pen on her eyes for the glint and it looks terrible but I will fix that when I can find the exact paint colour I used.

Egg Man

kookookachoo....  Alas poor egg man has been made into the gawkiest looking thing I have ever laid eyes upon.  I messed up his eyes his nails.  His fingers broke off and I had to superglue them back on again. I couldn't find my thin paintbrushes so me being me I rushed in and painted with a bigger one instead and I ruined his eyes.  Oh and I added anitas 3d gloss to his tongue and eyes you can't really see it in the pic.  Did I mention how much I hate what I have done to his poor eyes.

Anyway I am introducing you to a poor simple egg man:

Hopefully this guy isn't a sign of things to come.  I am going to persevere though because I find this very relaxing and enjoyable sculpting and you know what they say practice makes passable hehe.  Oh sorry Creepy if you read this yes it is a real eggshell, I wouldn't even know how to try and tackle making an egg shell.

Polymer Vamp Necklace

I know this picture is so sucky (haha terrible joke).  I made this using polymer clay and after baking I put anita's 3d gloss on it for the shine.  I don't have a necklace for it yet but have put the eyepins in.  I have made three for my three nieces as they love vampires.

They do look quite good in real life but terrible in this photo.  After I attach the necklace I will post more pics of the finished product.

Work in Progress

Another work in progress that I will probably never finish.  I have been really busy this week, started an acrylic art class and doing some stuff for nursery plus my I still can't walk properly because of my fall on my knee so am still hobbling about, hubby is now calling me stumpy.  Sorry haven't been commenting as much this week.

Anyway this isn't going how I expected as it is a bit too big.  Was supposed to look like a little creature coming from an egg but it is way too big (even though it is teeny).  Oh and it is sticking it's tongue out.

It isn't finished and hasn't been baked or painted yet.  I am going to add some hair and some fingernails etc.

Anyway this is my offering for the moment.

HDH Challenge - Elegantly Evil

Well for this challenge I had planned a vampire from polymer but my youngest daughter had other ideas.  I have nearly had the head finished so many times and she has come up and bashed it out of my hands, thrown a cup at it etc.  So I knew I wouldn't be able to work on it over weekend as we are babysitting our niece and two nephews over at their house so time is limited, I gave up and did another quicker entry.

This is over at the Haunted Design House Challenge Blog.  I drew this elegant little lady with an elegant gown sporting webs at the top and a nice little tiara.  Now she is holding a severed head (well you did say evil)  Don't mess with her as she is so self obsessed and obviously evil, this poor guy has had the audacity to turn her down on a request, bad mistake!!  I painted the blood on the bottom of her dress with watercolour and coloured her with copics.  The background image is from The Graphics Fairy (fab) and the flower is from wild orchid crafts, the punch around the side is martha stewart crackle punch and I have added red stickles and a papermania brad with red pearls.

This was supposed to be my entry but had been battered about so much that I gave up for a while I have redone it about 6 times.  It was supposed to be queen of the damned my version.

If I ever get around to finishing her I will paint her after baking.  You can't see it in the pic but her top teeth ar vampire teeth, doesn't look so great but I did have her nearly perfect at one point before the first bashing she took.

Reduce Reuse and Recycle - Ballerina

The unfinished ballerina!  She is made from all recycled materials.

Again another unfinshed product to show.  I keep telling myself that I will finish things but when do you get the time!  The base of this is a wooden toy that had a straight bit sticking out, which I used for the leg, for the other leg I used a bit of old plastic and some newspaper.  The skirt is made from the front page of a magazine and folded to look this way.  I made the base of the body with scrumpled newspaper and maskiing tape, the arms from old straws (as you can see they are unfinished and the head is unfinished).  The reason I haven't finished it yet is I have to make more papier mache pulp and it is quite time consuming.  The head is what the rest of the body looked like before I sanded it.  I am unsure if I should paint it or not, but my three year old will probably say pink pink pink!

Just a few different angles.  Obviously when it is finished I will have to sand the base and polish it up a bit.

So have to shape bottom of arms and hands and finish head.

Anways munchkins are hungry, feed me.....

First attempt at sculpting

Finally I am back online after practically a whole month. Well yet again another first attempt, this time sculpting with newclay. I always wanted to try sculpting and my hubby thought that I should give it a go so bought me some sculpting tools and clay.


My hubby said the chest is well let's just say wasn't very realistic looking. You would think I could get that right. I know it's not great but I am not disheartened as the more I practice I think I should improve.
